30th July 2011 - last game of baseball for the season

I cannot believe the Winter baseball season has come to an end! The Bandits did not have a great season, but probably as we were in 3rd grade rather than our preferred 4th grade competition. We have not made the play-offs - first time in four years!

For the last game at Aquatic No 3 Diamond we had 17 out of our 18 players turn up. We beat the Jets by one run (6 : 5) - I managed to play half a game at second base and outfield - but scored a good run.

After the game, the players were joined by wives, girlfriends and children - for a BBQ and beer/wine. It was very social. The weather was a perfect Sydney winter's day - 18c while game was on, with blue sky and no clouds and lots of sunshine. By 4.30pm the light was fading and temps were dropping. Until next season - time - until we "play ball" and "step up to the plate".
